Frequently asked questions

What is Rise and Lyft?

Rise and Lyft is the Black Community's Operating System — a platform with more than 43,000 approved directory listings across 50+ countries. Search pages load a smaller set of matching results at a time so you can discover businesses, professionals, organizations, cultural sites, events, and educational institutions.

Is it free to use?

Yes. Browsing the directory, reading spotlights, and exploring events is always free. Business owners can also list their business at no cost.

How do I list my business?

Click "List a Business" in the top navigation, fill in your details, and submit for review. Once approved, your business appears in the directory for the community to discover and support.

What types of businesses are listed?

We cover 120+ categories — restaurants, barbershops, salons, law firms, financial services, tech companies, health and wellness providers, nonprofits, retail shops, and much more.

How do I find businesses near me?

Use the Map view to browse businesses near your current location, or search by city in the directory. The mobile app (coming soon) will also support location-based discovery.

Can I add a business outside the United States?

Absolutely. Rise and Lyft is global — we currently list businesses in over 50 countries spanning North America, the UK, Africa, the Caribbean, and beyond.
